Whoa! That is really surreal.

Sort of a funny title too, "building bloom" ...building boom.
ReplyDeleteIn this particular surrealist film, all explosions result in the blooming of red flowers. At some point, the protagonist cuts off his thumb, only to discover that it is a hard boiled egg....:)

ReplyDeleteHe was one of Tarkovsky's favorite directors.
ReplyDeleteBelle de jour seems to be timelessly in fashion...with film people (although I doubt Tarkovsky was a fan of it).
The only other film of his I've seen is 'Land without Bread.' In homage, I was thinking of having a scene with a falling animal for this particular surrealist movie, but decided against it :/
